Dr. Dasarathan Memorial Hospital formerly known as Dasarathan hospital is located 10 km from the heart of Coimbatore city on Mettupalayam main road. It was started by Dr.Dasarathan in the year 1979. Being born and brought up in this locality Dr.Dasarathan served the people for nearly 25 years. After his untimely demise in 2003 the reigns of running the nursing home shifted to the shoulders of his daughters

Our Founder

Dr. Dasarathan Memorial Hospital formerly known as Dasarathan nursing home was started by Dr.Dasarathan in the year 1979. Being born and brought up in this locality he saw the struggles of the local people, where they had to travel far distances even for simple medical care. He grew up with the ambition to help the people.

Dr.Dasarathan studied in Asokapuram Higher secondary school, N.G.G.O Colony. He did his M.B.B.S in Kilpauk medical college, Chennai and started his practice in Coimbatore. He was serving the people of this locality for over 25 years. His vision was to provide the best health care at an affordable cost for the people.

Dr.Dasarathan had saved so many lives back in the time that those families are still thankful to the hospital and those patient’s children and grandchildren visit here. He did a noble service to the needy people.

After his untimely demise in 2003 the hospital is being taken care of by his daughters and son in laws,

Dr.Niranjani

Dr.D.Niranjini M.B.B.S., DGO, A.R.T (CIMAR) is the elder daughter of Dr.Dasarathan, she is a consultant OBG, did her UG in Annamalai University and her PG in PSG medical college, Coimbatore. She is an expertise in obstetrics with special interests in high risk pregnancy. She also got trained for Artificial Reproductive Technology at CIMAR.

Dr.Senthil Raj

Dr.R.K.Senthil raj M.B.B.S, D.C.H., is a consultant pediatrician; passed his M.B.B.S in Stanley medical college, Chennai and his PG in child health in Madras Medical College, Chennai. He has been practicing at Dr.Dasarathan memorial hospital since 2003 after his short service at Masonic children’s hospital, Coimbatore. He has also been trained in advanced NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation program). He is a well known pediatrician in this locality for more than 15 years.

Dr.Preethi

Dr.D.Preethi is the youngest daughter of Dr.Dasarathan, a consultant OBG, did her UG in Tanjoor medical college and her PG in Madras Medical College(Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology). She also did the artificial reproductive technology training in Singapore from CREST. Her special interest is in adolescent gynecology and fertility management.

Dr.Suresh

Dr.A.K.Suresh, a consultant Gynec Endoscopic Surgeon, with special interest in fertility enhancing Gynec endoscopic procedures. He has worked as an assistant professor in the department of O&G in Salem medical college, Villupuram medical college and Coimbatore medical college. Dr.A.K.Suresh recently won the award and certificate of appreciation for doing maximum number of laparoscopic sterilization procedures in Coimbatore district from our very own Coimbatore district collector, Mr.T.N Hariharan on 26th January 2018.

The team of Dr.A.K.Suresh (Head of OBG), Dr.D.Niranjini, Dr.D.Preethi has had hands on training with global expert, the hysteroscopy king Prof. Dr.Osama Shawki M.D., and They have organized two hysteroscopy skill building course for gynecologists from Tamil Nadu and Kerala in 2016 & 2017 in Dr.Dasarathan Memorial hospital. Doctors from various cities had come to the hospital and had hands on training on very different and intriguing cases for hysteroscopy. Dr.A.K.Suresh’s vision is to organize this hysteroscopy skill building course where the infertility patients is treated and also helps the gynecologists learn more about diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy.

Highlights

The increasing population in and around NGGO Colony .The hospital has an outpatient attendance of around 80-120 patient /day and inpatient attendance rate of 60-70%. we decided to upgrade the present nursing home to the next level by incorporating many of the latest advance technology, instrument and infrastructure.
The Hospital is having 30 beds , one ICU, 2 Operation Theaters and labour room. one male general ward, one female general ward, Private AC +Non AC Rooms.
